Company Selection and Login

UniRes starts with the following screen ...

The coloured window not only introduces UniRes, but also checks for the presence of an update for UniRes. If an updated Unires distribution is in the unires startup folder, (usually c:\unires), you will be asked if you want to update to the later version.

This Help system is being updated at the moment, as are our web pages. Some texts may refer to old version 10 screens, but basic operation remains mostly the same with obvious improvements over the years.

The Welcome Screen

Company Selection Screen(((

UniRes is multi-company capable. To start your company ..

Click in your company name (or the Sample Company) in the left of the screen or click in the Map of the company in the right side of the screen.

UniRes is licensed on a per company basis and for the number of simultaneous access capabilities on you local network.

If Passwords are enabled for the selected company, enter your user name and password.

For the sample company (Trial Company) is passwords are enabled, the default password username and password is master with a password of password.

The Edit Button

Select and edit the Long Description of the company (Which is not the same as the actual company name appearing on receipts and reports), file locations and other details.

This is only used occasionally when required or if your company changes hands.

The Restore Button

Backups of your company data can be made using UniRes and if problems are experienced you can selectively restore the backup to the selected company here as the company in question is not yet open or has data problems which are preventing it from opening.

The Check for Updates Button

This button will look at the UniRes WEB pages for update availability. If a security message is displayed by your Windows version, just Allow Access.

UniRes support will contact you usually if an update is available.

The Command Centre

The Command Centre is the first window and is the hub of the UniRes Company.

Select the Company from the list using your mouse and double - click to open the company.

Depending on your company configuration, you may be asked for a User name and Password. If no passwords are used, you will have access to all the installed

features of UniRes.
