Default Settings
Default settings can be set to tell UniWord how to behave when started and in which folder your documents and templates are kept.
There are two places in UniRes where you can set the UniWord defaults.

Note
If your UniWord program will not start due to an error message, you may have lost your default letter. To rectify this, use the System Access File - Editor Preferences to change your default open letter to a Blank Document or use the Locate button next to the Letter head file name and location field to select a new letter.
Compatibility Issues ..
Letters modified with other wordprocessors like MS Word may not be compatible with UniWord, although UniWord DOC files can be opened in Word, additional features in MS Word may cause a problem when trying to open a WORD DOC file in UniWord.
1. The System Access file
To Open: Select from the Menu Bar - File Maintenance - System Access, then select the Editor Preferences TAB ...
AND
2. The UniWord Menu Bar ...
Start UniWord: Command Centre - Supervisory - UniRes Letter Editor
or Menu Bar - Email - UniRes Letter Editor
Then : Menu Bar - Tools - Editor Preferences & Defaults
Setting Preferences Window
The Settings Preferences window is divided up into 5 tabbed window areas.
Default File Locations
This is where you set the default folder locations for your files.
Locate Buttons
To help you find the folder for your files, click on the Locate button. The Select Directory window appears where you can search for the folder you want to use.
Highlight the folder and click on the Select button.
Drive
If the folder you want is on another hard disk drive or across a network on another drive, select the drive from the list. See example.
Editor Preferences TAB
This is where you set which document to open when UniWord opens. You may want to create a Template Letter which serves as a general letterhead with standard text.
Options are...
A Blank Document: Use if you just want to start the letter editor with a blank page.
My Letterhead: Use if you have defined a letter template and stored it the path you set in the previous TABbed window under the field called ..
Letterhead file name and location.
Last Opened Document: If you select this option, the last letter you opened will be reopened when you start UniWord.
Overdue Letter Templates TAB
UniRes comes with a few sample templates to help you get started with making templates. This is where you can set a reference to the template letters you use for warnings.
Future versions of UniRes may have the ability to produce automatic warning letters based on overdue account status periods. Currently, overdue warning letters are there for reference only.
Email Reply Templates
UniRes comes with a few sample templates to help you get started with making templates. This is where you can set a reference to the template letters you use for Email replys.
Future versions of UniRes may have the ability to produce automatic reply letters based on email received. Currently, email reply letters are there for reference only.
