Making a Hard Disk Copy of UniRes
Making a Hard Disk Copy of UniRes
If you want to make sure you have a copy of UniRes, its programs and data file before an update is performed, or before a restore is done, use the Windows Explorer to copy the C:\UniRes folder to a new folder. Later, after changes are completed to the UniRes installation, you can delete the backup copy folder to save disk space.
To make a complete Hard Disk Copy of the UniRes Folder ...
Exit UniRes on all computers running UniRes.
From the My Computer Icon on your Windows Desktop open the C: drive to explore the Drive.
From the Menu at the top of the window select File - New - New Folder.
Give the Folder a Name like UniRes Full Copy <Date> (do not use .\;: etc in the name. ie use say. 31_12_2016)
You should see or find the c:\CPBS folder. This is where UniRes is installed.
Make sure you have enough disk space to make a complete copy of the UniRes folder and its entire contents including sub-folders. (Right Click on the UniRes folder Icon - select Properties and note the folder size).
Now right click on the UniRes folder and select Copy.
Find the Folder you created as a New Folder and right click on it - then select Paste.
Explorer will now copy the files to you new folder.
In later versions of Windows, you can just copy and paste to the same folder and Explorer will auto rename the copied folder.
